I love making my own household cleaners. When I saw this recipe for ”scrubby bathroom cleaner”, I got excited. I’ve been using baking soda, vinegar & salt for years & was ready for something different.
I memorised the recipe before I went shopping. I only needed the Dr. Bronner’s soap.
I made the cleaner as soon as I got home. It was a bit chunky.
I stirred, shook, stirred, shook. It stayed chunky. I used it anyway. It works great & smells lovely!
I keep it in a Mason jar & shake it before I use it. It’s still chunky. Here it is poured out on the bathroom counter.
It looks pink because I used pink sea salt.
Remember I said I memorised the recipe? Well…I bought Dr. Bronner’s Magic Castile Soap. The recipe calls for Dr. Bronner’s Sal Suds, it’s for use on hard surfaces. I’m pretty sure my scrubby cleaner turned out chunky because I used the wrong soap.
It cleans really well. Sometimes I don’t even use a sponge. I take a chunk & rub it on my dirty surfaces until the chunk is gone, then rinse.
When I run out, I’ll make this again with the Sal Suds.
